For the chance to have an informal catch up before WDC2008 Dan Dixon got together with the guys behind Skillswap Bristol, myself, Patrick H Lauke and James Box to put on a Skillswap evening on the 11th, 1 day before WDC2008. Not only will you get a quick (12 minute) peak in to what those guys do but you’ll be in the mood for the following day where you can learn the rest.

Sold Out!

November 3rd, 2008 / No Comments » / by Alex

There are (at time of posting) 9 days until WDC2008! The good news is that all the speakers and panels members are confirmed, the venue is booked and people are coming.

What makes this even better is the news that we have sold out (yes it’s free, but still!) for this year. This means we’re expecting 120 people along to take in everything, everyone will be saying.

If you’ve missed out this time, don’t worry to much WDC2009 is already being planned!

Microsoft at WDC2008

October 15th, 2008 / No Comments » / by Alex

It’s just over a month away but I’m pleased to say the Microsoft will be coming along to this years event!

They will be a present in Waterside 3 for the entire event. It’s there for students to learn about Microsoft products including Expression 2 and Silverlight 2. I’ve also been told there will be news on how to get free .NET hosting for yourself.

Due to this the schedule has been updated. This is to allower longer breaks during the event to allow attendees to get the most out of these stands.

BathCamp

July 26th, 2008 / No Comments » / by Alex

September 13, 2008 10:00 amtoSeptember 14, 2008 6:00 pm

Need something to fill in the space between now and November? Are you in the South West? Got a fiver buring a hole in your pocket? If Yes then you’ll be interested in heading towards Bath for BathCamp

A BarCamp is a type of participatory conference (or unconference, if you prefer), where everyone is encouraged to give short presentations, demos, workshops and so on, in a kind of ad-hoc, not very pre-planned kind of fashion. There’s also an overnight element, where attendees can literally camp out and hang out, either discussing stuff or making stuff (or both).

BathCamp will be happening on 13th/14th September 2008 at Invention Studios, Bath. You can now book online. It’s a fiver. To keep up to date with these people check out their Blog
